ABOUT US

The Parsley name has been known for reproducing copies of original buckles for over 3 decades.  My great uncle, HW. Parsley was retired and focused on his hobby, relic hunting and the history of the Civil war.  He had many friend that were also relic hunters. His interests drew him to learn to reproduce originals.  His earlier years of working around casting enabled him to do so.  Day after day he would cast buckles. Some days he would end up with nothing.  He would start again the next day learning from the mistakes of the day before, through this process he gained more and more experience.  As a young teen visiting my great uncle, I became interested in what he was doing.  I learned the most important thing about this type of casting.  Patience.  That is what it took to create a good reproduction.  With many years of experience, he taught me to get better and better.  Through this it all came together.  With word of mouth, people found out we were making high quality reproductions from originals.  Soon, Sutlers and re enactors were encouraging us to make more.  They kept us busy.  They were thrilled with the consistency of quality buckles.  This encouraged me to take a chance,at turning a hobby into a living.

In 1982, my wife joined me.  She had an interest in the casting process also.  As time went by our customers grew to:  Museums,(such as:  Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, Daughters of the Confederacy in Richmond, Kennesaw Mountain Historical Association in Georgia and many more), Sutler's, Park Services, and Movie Makers.our products are in movies such as Gettysburg, Gods and Generals, along with others, the most recent The Alamo.  We stressed to give our customers the highest quality product available.  That is our goal.

As our family grew, we became strictly a mail order business.  As much as we loved to travel and bring our products to the public, we decided to stay home and raise our family.  Now with the Computer Age it has enabled us the bring our buckles back to the public.  I can't stress enough that the encouragement from family, friends and customers , kept us making buckles of this quality when there was no profit to be made, because of them I am still reproducing buckles today.  Thanks to all of you.
